A cup of hot chocolate is much needed in the cold winter nights. I have been enjoying it even during the day for the past few days. When at home, why not make some hot chocolate and catch up on that book you’ve wanted to read, or watch the season finale of Dexter?
Here is a recipe for a really delicious yet Healthy Hot Chocolate. This recipe was featured on the Tropicana India page too as a part of their Christmas Special Recipes.
8 cups milk
3/4 cup (150 g) packed dark brown sugar
1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg powder
250 g semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
3/4 cup miniature marshmallows
Whole grated nutmeg (optional)
Grated chocolate (optional)
1. Combine milk, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, nutmeg, and semisweet chocolate in a large saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook 25 minutes or until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth, stirring occasionally.
2. Serve with marshmallows. Garnish with whole grated nutmeg or chocolate, if desired.
